On Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, a group of representatives of peace organizations met with staff members of Congressman Ed Markey's office to discuss the Peaceful Tomorrows report, "Afghanistan: Ending a Failed Military Strategy." Attendees included Terry Rockefeller and Terry Greene from September 11th Familiies for Peaceful Tomorrows, and Wright Salisbury of September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows and Alliance for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Understanding, Sarah Furho of Military Families Speak Out, Javed Fakharzadeh from MoveOn, Angela Kelly of Mass Peace Action and Barbara Boltz of United for Justice with Peace.
The coaltion is looking for people from every state in the union to contact their senators and representatives to present this report, which can be downloaded at www.peacefultomorrows.org/downloads/Afghanistan_Ending_Failed_Military_Strategy_3.pdf. The goal is to DELIVER THE REPORT (not email it or mail it) into the hands of every one of the 535 congressmen and women in the US Senate and House of
